An assault with a machete in downtown Vancouver, B.C. despatched 4 victims to hospital Saturday evening. One of many alleged victims spoke concerning the incident on Sunday. He stated the suspect lives throughout the corridor from his house.
“I heard a pop and an explosion. I went into the hallway and it smelled like gasoline,” stated Cecil Cochrane.
Vancouver police did verify a person set his suite on fireplace inside a rooming home close to Granville and Smithe streets.
“I used to be locking my door when he hit me within the head from behind and I went down to at least one knee. He hit me once more with the machete after which I grabbed it,” Cochrane stated. “We began combating, rolling round on the bottom.”
Police have confirmed officers confronted a machete-wielding man within the Granville Avenue space, which led to pictures being fired by VPD officers. Cochrane described the suspect as roughly 50 years outdated and a heavy-set man.
