Los Alamos Religion and Science Discussion board will hear from Father Jesse Robinson Wednesday, July 6 at Kelly Corridor, 3900 Trinity Drive on The Orthodox Church, Religion vs Data, A have a look at St. Isaac 7th Century.
This presentation will ask the questions from an Orthodox Christian perspective: Are religion and science actually so opposed? How are they meant to be ordered? What finish are they meant to serve? We’ll look at teachings of Orthodox Christian Fathers, with particular emphasis on the writings of the nice ascetic of the 7th century, St. Isaac the Syrian.
Father Jesse Robinson was raised in Tempe, AZ the place he joined the Orthodox Church together with his household and a bunch of seekers in 1998. He’s married to Chelsea, whom he met when he briefly owned an ice cream store in Phoenix, AZ. He’s an okay dad to a few boys with a fourth child on the way in which. He was ordained to the diaconate in November 2018, and to the priesthood in July of 2019. He obtained his Masters in Divinity from St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Might of 2020. He lately took over as head priest and pastor of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Santa Fe, NM in June of 2021 after the retirement of the beloved founding pastor, Fr. John Bethancourt. Holy Trinity is a parish of the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, which is a part of the Patriarchate of Antioch, one of many unique Christian church buildings talked about within the Bible.
