A Christmas Tree from North Carolina on Wednesday will start its journey to the U.S. Capitol.
The tree, nicknamed “Ruby,” is a 78-foot tall Purple Spruce from the Pisgah Nationwide Forest.
The tree will journey almost 1,000 miles over the following 14 days. That is the primary tree from N.C. to face on the U.S. Capitol since 1998.
A photograph of the tree was shared on the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree’s Instagram profile.
