ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) — Rocky Mount police say they’ve arrested a person after he stabbed and killed one other man early Sunday morning.
At about 2:30 a.m., officers stated they had been known as to the 1200 block of Department St. in reference to a stabbing.
Once they received to the scene, they stated they discovered 56-year-old Clarence Terry Jr. affected by accidents.
EMS took him to the hospital the place he later died, based on the police division.
Police stated the suspect, 41-year-old Thomas Mercer, stayed on the scene.
He was interviewed and arrested.
Investigators decided that an argument between Mercer and Terry led to the stabbing, and that each males knew one another.
Mercer is charged with second-degree murder.
He’s being held on the Edgecombe County Detention Middle with out bond.
