Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended his authorities’s “very tough determination” on Wednesday to permit Germany to return the controversial generators being serviced in Canada to Russia‘s Gazprom amid outcry over the transfer.
Canada wanted to return six generators for a pipeline that carries pure fuel to Europe from Russia within the face of Moscow’s fixed makes an attempt to “weaponize” power, he stated.
The sanctions are “aimed toward (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and his enablers and are not designed to hurt our allies and their populations,” Trudeau stated, including that Ottawa will proceed to “unequivocally” stand with Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Canada for its determination, warning Moscow will see this as a manifestation of weak spot.
